Early Game
Levels 1–8
Prepare snip stacks with safe attacks before committing 1. A short trade after the opponent misses a key spell is better than an automatic all-in into stronger early damage. Keep 3 available to adjust the center of your snips or leave a trade. Mist denies threats from enemies outside it, not from a melee opponent who enters the zone.
- Reference build: Dusk and Dawn → Nashor's Tooth → Rabadon's Deathcap → Riftmaker → Void Staff.
- Summoner spells: Flash + Ghost.
- Place the center of 1 through the enemy and stagger your ultimate casts to stay in range. Use Ghost for sustained contact when enemy escape tools have already been pressured.
Late Game
Levels 9–15
Create side-lane pressure when your team can hold the map, then move before an objective rather than arriving after the fight starts. Use the mist to separate ranged threats from your duel and position each ultimate cast to maintain contact. AP improves your damage, but a full damage build cannot compensate for being controlled before you can attack.
- Choose Plated Steelcaps or Mercury’s Treads for the main threat. Buy Void Staff when magic resistance warrants it; consider Banshee’s Veil or Zhonya’s Hourglass instead of a late damage slot when first-contact burst decides the fight.
