Early Game
Levels 1–8
Trade when your shield and Frenzy are available rather than pushing every wave with the passive. Slow the lane near your tower when a ranged opponent can punish your approach. Heartsteel is a scaling choice for lanes where you can safely trade; do not force stacks into a losing matchup. Delay an aggressive purchase for boots or a defensive component when necessary.
- Reference build: Heartsteel → Dusk and Dawn → Riftmaker → Amaranth's Twinguard → Thornmail.
- Summoner spells: Flash + Ignite.
- Bait Jax’s Counter Strike or Fiora’s Riposte before committing your stun. Against Teemo, wait for blind to expire rather than wasting your empowered attack.
Late Game
Levels 9–15
Push a side wave only while you know where the enemy engage threats are. Before Dragon or Baron, move early enough to fight with your team. A tower disable gives a short pressure window, but it does not disable the Nexus or make allies invulnerable. Use the ultimate to reach a valuable target or escape a collapse.
- Buy Plated Steelcaps or Mercury’s Treads according to the lane and enemy composition. Against crit-heavy teams, Randuin’s Omen can replace the least useful defensive slot.
