Riot has not announced the next Wild Rift patch yet. The latest notes are 7.3c (October 21, 2026, AAA ARAM only), and the latest Summoner's Rift balance patch is 7.3b (October 14). Last checked against Riot's official pages: October 27, 2026 (UTC). We update this page every time Riot posts new notes or a new date.

Is there a 7.4, or is 8.0 next?
Riot has not said. Here is what is on record: the official schedule stops at 7.3, and the 7.3 notes say Season 23 is expected to end in January 2027. The last three ranked seasons (S21, S22 and S23) each started the day after a major patch: 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3. So a major patch around the end of S23 is a reasonable expectation. That is our editorial reading, not an announcement, and there is no date for it.

Major dates come from Riot Support. For lettered patches we list the day the notes went up; Riot says smaller balance patches "follow a more fluid schedule and are harder to predict". A past pattern is not an announcement, so we don't project the next date from this table.
Dates already on the calendar
- December 3: the Reindeer Mini Pass arrives (7.3 notes). Riot gives the day, not the time.
- January 6, 2027: last day for the Volibear Legends Showdown chests, until 11:59 PM (7.3b notes; Riot does not state the time zone).
- January 2027: expected end of Ranked Season 23, which started on September 23 at 03:00 UTC.
What happens on patch day
Major patches go live at 00:01 UTC, so convert that to your local time. If you haven't updated yet, Riot gives a 24-hour grace period during which you can keep playing with other players who are also on the old version. Riot doesn't publish a time for lettered patches; 7.3c only said its content "will be released throughout the patch".
What to play until then
Nothing on Summoner's Rift has moved since 7.3b, so the current picks hold:
- Wild Rift tier list (patch 7.3b), with role views like the jungle tier list and the mid lane tier list.
- Counters and the item list for your next draft.
- Every Rift change still in effect: our 7.3b changes, and the bigger shifts from patch 7.3 and Hwei.
Verdict
Don't plan around a predicted date. Riot lists major patches on its schedule ahead of time, but lettered patches aren't on it, so for 7.3d watch for the notes, not a countdown.
